Series 500
Strategic Source Components Series 500 Inserts are designed to be installed into thermoset and thermoplastic materials. Press Fit Expansion Inserts have a slot that lowers stress during installation and then expands once a screw is installed into the insert. Minimum boss diameters of 2 times the diameter of the insert are recommended. Strategic Source Components also offers Series 510 with a flange and Series 520 with a reverse flange.
These inserts are installed using a standard slow action press- no heat or ultrasonics are required. Press Fit Expansion available in unified thread sizes #-2-56 to 5/16/-18 and M2 to M8. These inserts are offered in one standard length for each thread size . Standard materials available are free machining brass.
